Even though all of this was supposed to happen in the backyard, but the downpour of rain avec thunder and lightning forced us to crowd into our house, the moments of today fill up my heart (... and my house... and eventually my backyard). Mass in my dining and living rooms? Yes, please. I know the importance of Church and faith community but I also treasure the coziness of Jesus being raised up in my house among dear families and lots of kids. Today was a joy.
We are celebrating 20 years since WYD in Toronto and invited Fr. Tom to say Mass for some of the WYD and S+L staff and their families. It has been years since some of these people saw each other, but everyone of them is still working hard to build God's kingdom here on earth. So glad they could gather with us for a little bit, and we hope to see them again soon.
Hosting people is a lot of work and it stresses me out and moments up to everyone coming I was regretting the whole thing. But that uneasiness really quickly turned to happiness and then really quickly turned to big plans to do this more often. It was a good day for our whole family. So good.
