tree-mendous

We all hitched a ride with the boys' Explorer group for their Tree Top Trekking adventure (minus Clara, who went to her friend's birthday party instead) and we had a tree-ific time climbing up high in the branches. Janie enjoyed her mini course, while the rest of us were challenged by the ropes and boards and precarious passes in the big trees. David played the role of Ranger, which is to say he wrangled Leo the whole time and inspected us for ticks when we were done. Thanks, Ranger Dave. And thanks, trees, for your support.

ballers

Just some competitive backyard wiffle ball, don't mind us. (Don't worry... I challenged the call in the last video and was declared safe on first.)

water you doing today?

I'll tell you what we're doing - kayaking! We're excited to announce two new additions to the Kantor family... twin kayaks! After thinking and saving and ordering and waiting, these babies finally arrived in March and today was the day they hit the water! We took them down to Bronte creek for each kid and grown-up to take a turn, before Gillian and Joe sailed them as far up the creek as we could go. We are excited to make this a summer Saturday morning activity and to try them out on beach trips. Yippee-kayak!

clara's big day

Our Miss Clara enjoys a good meal of all sorts of delicacies so, today, to be able to feast at the table of the Lord - woohee - this is one she has been waiting for with a giddy, joyful heart. She received her First Communion with friends and classmates and a Church once again packed with people, and that sight alone was enough to fill up our hearts. We pray Clara is always fed first and foremost by the Lord, that she knows him and loves him for all of her life, and that she will always find the love and comfort of a good meal among Jesus, the Saints, and the Church.

Happy First Communion Day, Clara!

peace and quiet

Good to get those other kids off to school and out of his hair so Leo can enjoy some me time.

tu-million-lips

Mama's Day today and I got spoiled with buckets and buckets of flowers. We visited a tulip farm (along with 8-million other people and their moms) to explore, admire, and pick our own. Every admission receives 10 tulips x 8 people = quick math here... 80 tulips. Eighty is a lot of tulips. But beautifully so. I walked out of there feeling like Miss America.

I hope every mom feels like a pageant queen today - you deserve it. Happy Mother's Day.

not covid

But definitely sick. Kids are taking turns staying home from school with runny noses and big coughs. And Leo is just constantly bellering for tissues. I think our bodies hate us.

office hours

When the boys have a two-hour baseball practice, that means I have a two-hour quiet window to work. What I learned the other day, however, was you can work during a practice, but you can't work during a game.

Got myself all set up. Texted David at home. Look at me! I'm working!

Five minutes later... Joe got a big hit and I got excited.

And that was the end of my work day.
