We ate so much today... mostly cake. We joined all the Kantors for the Kantor Family Christmas, with a bonus cake for Auntie Julie, and then celebrated Dhas birthdays with four more cakes. Everything was delicious, especially the company.

We celebrated Nanny and Auntie Julie tonight with birthday party-ing. We enjoyed cake AND a dance party in fun birthday form. And we're blessed by lovely ladies in our family and the good feeling of family.

over west quilting + design

I participated in my first ever handmade market today, after a summer and fall of sewing and preparing. It was a day of chatting with shoppers and fellow vendors, smiling a lot, and learning. I didn't make a tonne of sales but had some good conversations, handed out a lot of business cards, and am really glad for the opportunity.

I'm also glad for these sweet people, who came to visit me. And we'll give it another go another time.

then and now

Well, we have been happily living in our new kitchen for over a month now and it really has been happy and it really has been living (do we have any other rooms in the house? I don't know. I like this one so much I'll just spend all my time here). So here it is. Before and after. Before it was a skinny kitchen and a packed playroom. Now it is one long space with kitchen, dining, homework desk, craft area, and baby toys. A very liveable, clean, comfortable space. The room makes me so happy and I'm really grateful for this gift in our family life. Yippee!

There was some sort of terrifying wild turkey migration on my street this afternoon. They walked up the street to the mailbox, turned around, and went home. All in horrifying slow turkey-walk motion.

There goes the neighbourhood.

My dad and mom made this dollhouse for me when I was 6? 7? Little. It brings me such glee to see this...

I suggested doing homework during the day on Saturday. Joe preferred waiting for 9:40. (Maybe after laying in bed for awhile, worrying that maybe Mom was right and maybe he should get up and do his work. Maybe.)

I walked in the door from running errands on Saturday to hear two happy voices exclaim, "Mommy! We're painting!" And so they were.
