birthday people

Happy Birthday, to all the Dhas people! Thanks for a fun day, a yummy salad, and good cake. And sorry about Clara's tummy and the spilling of the contents. We are such party poopers/pukers.

Here's sweet Annie, after she made her First Confession today. Oh, so bright and fresh and squeaky clean. God's mercy looks so nice on you, Annie!

here

Grammie and Papa came to play for a few days, and life is better when they're here.  We're grateful for the visiting and we're sorry about the puking (us, not them). Our playtime got cut short but, as Dad said in his text to me when we quarantined ourselves, "No worries." Here's to the next (healthier) visit, then.

snow day

Buses were cancelled this morning, despite the sky, roads, and everything in between being completely clear. By the end of the day, we looked like this, which somewhat justified the driving back and forth and around to drop and collect people and back again. But... please note the leaves on the trees. We didn't quite finish with Fall yet.

and a party

When planning a birthday party for a one-year-old, considering the timing of the event is key. For example, hosting a birthday brunch for a baby/toddler the day after Daylight Savings is not a great idea if you would like the guest of honour to be awake for much of the party. That is a life tip for you, courtesy of experience.

Anyway, friends and family came over today to celebrate Leo and, when he was awake, he enjoyed the singing and his cupcake and ripping wrapping paper. To honour his All Saints birthday, we stuck some Saintly friends on his cake and JPII on his t-shirt. Leo loved it. And he loved the party. And his nap.

leo likes cake

Leo turned one today! Woohoo! Technically... he was born at 8:37 p.m. so he was asleep before he even turned one. BUT he was born November 1, and today is November 1, so birthday it is!

Leo awoke to birthday hats, doughnuts, and adoring fans. He played with Mommy and Janie all day, and then was treated to presents and cake when the school kids and Daddy came home. And that's about it. It was his kind of day. Playing, eating, Mommy, napping. That's really all he needs.

What a good, quiet day to spend with our guy. We're just revving up for what's to come this year.

Happy Birthday, Leo!
