hello fall
It's you again. Time for toques and warm jackets and waiting for the snow to come (but, please, not yet).

fair enough
Today we went to a fair in Bronte Village. Joseph ate french fries, got licked by a goat, and rode in a train. Because that's what you do at a fair.

grammie's here!
Welcome Grammie! We are so glad you are here!
(And welcome back, Camera! We are so glad you are fixed!)
Grammie arrived yesterday and that means lots of family time with Lily and Jonah and, of course, Grammie. We're enjoying stories and cuddles and baths and fridge magnets and there are many more days to come. Stay longer, Grammie, stay longer (but bring Papa next time)!

joseph waits for no camera
Some new things that Joseph can do (but alas, you will have to take my word for it. These milestones have no documentation because my camera is in the hospital with expensive broken pieces... poo):
1. flush the toilet. There are mixed feelings in the house about this. Joseph is excited. Daddy and I are not.
2. roll out the toilet paper. Again, mixed feelings.
3. smooch. He gives particularly slobbery kisses.
4. throw a ball. Or, at least, hold a ball high above his head and then let it go.
5. sit attentively for stories. Like today at Rhyme Time, when he crawled right up to Ms. Penny's feet and listened to her read the barnyard story (Mommy was Very Proud).
The camera comes home on Thursday. Thank goodness. It has been a long week.

jonah benjamin
Hip hip hooray for the Dhas Family, who welcomed Jonah Benjamin in the wee wee hours of this morn!! He is teeny weeny and super handsome... see for yourself.

And here is big sister, Lily. She stayed at our house last night and this morning we taught her to say, "Lily has a baby brother!" But when Binu came to pick her up, she told him, "Lily has a baby sister!"
One-thousand-and-one more pictures to come of Jonah. Just wait right there.

surprise!
For Andrea and Baby! It was a good one... she was convinced she was going to a work party for Binu's company but - oh - could you please drop off a saw for David to borrow before you go? And here we all were, waiting for Andrea at the door.

The baby shower for Lily didn't really happen because of 1. timing (Lily was born the weekend of the shower) and 2. weather (big storm on day of our second try). So we made up for it today with this Crafty Project Shower (see all the ladies busy making crafty projects?).
Okay Baby. Now you can come. We are waiting.

also today...
I volunteered for the Oakville Half Marathon. My job was to cut the timing chips off runners' shoes. (A lot of people have sweaty shoes.) I had so much fun... oh goodness it made me want to run again.
Joseph and David came to cheer me on.
(In the video, David asks me if I had cried. And oh yes I did. Watching runners cross the finish line to the cheers of their families, especially their kidlings, made me the teariest volunteer.)

stairclimber

We probably shouldn't be teaching Joseph this. But it's part of his pre-bedtime routine - I climb to the top of the stairs and he follows me, all under the watchful eyes of Daddy "Safety First" Kantor. But then this morning, I caught him speeding over to the stairs to try to go up on his own.
Joseph "Laugh in the Face of Danger" Kantor.
