The girls enjoyed a relaxing spa-fternoon. They were welcomed into the bathroom with candles and soothing music for a foot soak, lotion treatment, and nail colour. Clara particularly enjoyed the meditation and declared that "this was just what she needed." Quarantine has been a trying time.

kantors in quarantine - may 29
The girls and Leo and I visited at Nanny and Grandpa's this morning. All sorts of social distancing rules were broken. I cannot be held responsible.

kantors in quarantine - may 28
On top of her own school work, Annie has been busy developing a fairly intense bug curriculum for her younger sisters. She has covered ants, spiders, worms, bees, and butterflies in an expansive program that uses language worksheets, experiments, observation, and mathematics for a comprehensive look at things that creep and crawl. She is a patient (mostly) and thorough teacher, even hosting parent/teacher conferences and giving up family playtime one evening so she could "work on report cards." Fortunately, the girls have completed the program and Annie is enjoying a much deserved break.
Leo is not officially a student of Annie's, but could be considered a school mascot. Pictured here, he is busy with computer things.

It's been a hot and toasty weekend. Saturday we brought out the sprinkler... today, the pool. The hose water is frigid relief.
In unrelated news... Annie lost a tooth! She'th very pleathed.

Today Clara learned to use a ratchet. She is making a fence (Daddy's helping a bit) around the garden. We're determined to keep the bunnies out this year.

Annie finished up her school week tasks by 10 this morning, so the girls and Leo and I went for a super long walk to enjoy the weather and to blow on fluffy dandelions and to eat gummy snacks. We went past Clara's school and stopped at St. Dominic's Church. We peeked through the glass door and could see the altar and the girls squealed with delight. We really miss it.

This is what Leo looks like after a two-and-a-half hour nap. In all of his days, we've never seen that before.

We are so excited for Grammie, who got her hair cut today in Saskatchewan! Lucky Grammie. And lovely Grammie. She would not be happy if I posted the Before picture, sent by her hair dresser, so I'll just show you this After.
(Also, we miss you, Grammie, and are very jealous of your hair dresser, who gets to see you and chat with you.)

First quarantine haircut... Henry. He just wanted the hair trimmed around his ears but has expressed interest in growing the rest out. That should look just great.

Our luck is changing, so says Annie, who found this 4-leaf clover in our lawn. And also Clara, who found some grass in our lawn.

Old toys are new again. The girls got really busy playing with the old Fisher Price and the boys brought out some of their planes "for Leo."

This girl. Jeepers. For the past week, she has been waking early to write in her prayer journal. Honestly, with missing school and her friends and her teachers, she's been having a rough go and we've had some Big Emotions. But ever since her rise-and-pray routine began, she has been working so hard to be an extra good girl, a great big sister, a helper, and some sunshine in our every day. Sweet Annie... we love her a lot.

Happy Mother's Day! To celebrate, we got in the car and drove to somewhere, all of us in the van, first time in two months. We didn't go too far, just a short drive to park the van, meet up with David's parents (in a socially distanced way), and watch the skies. And for two minutes, we were treated to the Snowbirds making rounds above. It's been a long time at home, and it was good to look up.
