Look what happens when you do a great job spreading compost... flowers grow taller than you.

blue jays vs. red sox
Cousin match-up tonight... Henry and Jonah head to head. They acknowledged each other, kind of, and ended the game 33-29, with both teams claiming the win. T-ball is amazing - everyone is a winner!

last chance
Henry informed me this morning he has a very wiggly front tooth. Which meant I needed to take this picture to capture this smile BEFORE EVERYTHING CHANGES. Not being dramatic or anything but first they lose their teeth, then adult teeth grow in, then he leaves for college.

hard workers
Clara and Janie helped me prepare the garden today. The job was to spread the compost. Clara used a rake. Janie did the job by hand. It got done.

mama's day
My people celebrated me in sweet and special ways today. Joe made me scrambled eggs, we went to Church, got doughnuts, and I took Joe to baseball practice (where I got to sit quietly in the sun and read my book). There was napping and crafting with Annie and thoughtful gifts and a family walk and a yummy sushi supper with the Bodners and the world's biggest cookie. Lots of noise and lots of fun, just like every day.
The gifts! The kids, with David's help, wrote daily thank yous to me, all the way from January to now. The messages were funny and a little scribbly and hard to read and really thoughtful and full of love. And then there were also the gifts they made at school - Annie's very accurate answering of questions about mommy (she knows how old I am and that my favourite food is cake) and Henry's French poem and Joe's book of poems about me (me: Joe, this is amazing! Did you get a mark on this? Because I think you should get a million percent! Joe: We didn't get marked on this because [teacher's name] didn't want to judge us on what we think of our moms. That made me laugh so hard.)

tastes like home
Special delivery in the mail the other day... doesn't everyone get their flour shipped in from out of province? No? Oh. Well, this is from my exclusive supplier, Girodat Seeds. I made some yummy buns with red hard spring wheat. The kids ate them up pretty fast so... now I need more, if my exclusive supplier is reading this.
