birthday eve

Oh Mr. Leo, this is your last night before one. Look at you, all cuddly and cozy, zonked out after a chilly night of trick-or-treating. All these experiences were brand new in your first year but, this coming year, oh boy, that's when you really get to have fun with them. As exciting as it is to see you grow and learn in year number one, this is where the fun/joy/craziness really starts. You're going to talk. You're going to walk. You're going to run. Your big siblings have so much to teach you. And I'll be ready to hold you, all cuddly and cozy, at the end of your long and busy days.

We love you, Leo. Happy Birthday Eve.

And now for our Halloween fashion show, we have, in order, Leo the bear, Jane the puppy, Clara as Snow White (that was her day costume; not pictured is her Cinderella evening ware), Annie the sweet witch, Henry the ninja, and Joe as Lucario (some Pokemon guy). These pictures were taken before the rain, which accompanied our trick-or-treating, but these troopers kept their eyes on the prize (ie. candy) and came home victorious. We're all set with mini chocolate bars until the apocalypse, should anyone need some.

pumpkin heads

We carved (ha!) out some time today for prepping our pumpkins for Halloween. Pumpkin carving, with one pumpkin per kid, is getting a little out of hand over here. We are not excellent carvers, making up for quality with quantity, but here we are anyway, with pumpkin guts galore and a million (rough estimate) roasted pumpkin seeds.

busy busy busy

Leo has a lot of tasks on his daily to-do list, most of all management of the main floor bathroom, keeping a watchful eye on the comings and the goings. Thanks, Leo, for keeping this household moving.

night out

Tonight was the boys' first concert... TobyMac. It was loud and intense and awesome, much like raising boys.

pies and bow ties

Happy Thanksgiving to all! We spent ours making pies and then eating pies at two different, delicious family gatherings. We are content, thankful, and full.
