Field trips! This is a thing we do again! And I was the lucky-to-be-chosen parent volunteer who got to accompany Clara's class to the African Lion Safari. Things I quickly remembered about field trips:
1. Kids are loud. I cannot begin to describe how much screaming and noise was on that bus. It was bananas.
2. It's never the thing that you think is going to be exciting that really thrills the audience. Look at that giraffe running - isn't that majestic? Look at those baby goats - aren't they cute?! No, the thing that the kids talked about most were the elephant pooping and the rhinoceros peeing. Those were their main takeaways.
Anyway, they're back at it, those kids on field trips. Let us rejoice.
