Joseph likes to watch me make supper. I guess it's funny?

bonne fete-ing
Happy Birthdays, Laura and Bill! Thanks, Flahertys, for the good party and the guh-ood food. Joseph particularly enjoyed the creme caramel.

This is Willy the Gecko. He likes crickets, not creme caramel.

this is so fun
That's what Ireland squealed, just centimetres from my nose, when we were playing Twister on the front lawn. Well, Matt, Becca, and I were playing Twister... Ireland was skipping across the mat, throwing random appendages on the coloured dots.
But - oh boy - is she right. Trips home to Shaunavon are filled with swimming and combining and playing with cousins and visiting Great-Grandma and eating breakfast with Papa and learning new things.

eight is great
Joseph is eight months... and can pull himself up and chew with his two front teeth and clap and, of course, pose for photos.

very moving
Joseph's parents are very proud to announce that their son crawled two little creeps on Sunday. Very tentative, very slow, but very determined. Now today is Monday and I am trying to record the crawling so we can someday look back and remember this momentous occasion. But... Joseph decided he wanted to showcase waving and yelling instead. Babies... so stubborn.
Anyway, voila.

take a hike
That's what we felt Joseph was saying to us this morning. And because he can't stay home alone, we took him with us. We went to Mount Nemo, part of the Bruce Trail, and had a leisurely hike. And while walking at a snail's pace, we saw some interesting things... like a snail, for instance, and a toad. Joseph touched leaves and rocks and moss and bark... he's a nature-y guy for sure.
(Thanks, Grammie Helen, for the gifts cards for the carrier... Joe loves his new ride.)

busy busy busy
Before Joseph was born, we let a lot of things slide. Dishwasher and potato inspection, for example. Thanks, Joe, for picking up the slack.
(about David's toenails... yes, they are purple... it's medicine for his toes... not polish)

tooth fairy
Ladies and gentlemen... no pictures to show for it... but we officially declare today The Day of the First Tooth.
- bottom right
- very sharp
- difficult to get camera inside child's mouth
- will try again later
