final farewell

One last hurrah... our last summer fun beach day, with cousins to make it extra awesome. The waves were awesome to jump and ride, Leo really, really loved the sand. And Joe attempted to trap a seagull in a very deep hole. Best day ever.

Summer, we will really, really, really miss you.

season-ational

That's me, trying to combine the words "season" and "sensational" to describe the boys' baseball seasons. The punning doesn't really work, but it still is how the year felt for both of them. We love baseball season, even if they both had 8 a.m. practices on Saturday. Joe and Henry both learned a lot and improved in their play. Henry's team didn't make it very far in their playoffs, but he did get to play one game with cousin Gabey, who joined them when Henry's team was short players. And he did get a trophy so, wee-hoo! Everyone wins! Joe's team advanced to the finals, only to lose a heartbreaker in the last inning. We were so proud to see Joe pitch two innings of that game - he worked really hard and played very well, only making the loss that much more painful. But! Onward! We're already excited about next season and what's to come for them as they grow.

hair-larious

We were treated to a Daddy-Day-Off day today and we went to the Science Centre for some fun. The last time we were there (during March break, when it was so insanely busy and 8-million other families were there), we did not have a chance to raise our hair up on the static ball (not its actual scientific name) so that is the first place we headed. We're pretty staticky, especially the girls, so that was fun(ny). Then on to explore space exhibits and outdoor playgrounds. Science!

sleepover / wake-a-thon

Part of our summer fun... a cousin sleepover! We ate hotdogs, threw water balloons, attempted an outdoor movie (but the mosquitoes defeated us) and then went to bed. But let it be known, I think only the girl cousins slept while the boy cousins talked and giggled.
