Leo's work is never done. Today he helped Annie clean out the paper drawer (helmet because safety first) and he washed the seat of his trike repeatedly. Happy to report that all things are now spic and span.

A friendly game with the cousins today, to celebrate that ball diamonds are now open. Fingers crossed that a baseball season is soon to follow. We are ready to play.

We delighted our senses today at the RBG's lilac gardens. Those fat, luscious fleurs with their softly sweet perfume... I lilac them a lot.

Leo and Janie helped me do some gardening at Nanny and Grandpa's today. The dirt extravaganza was Leo's dream come true.

wok the heck

A long, long time ago, when I was five, I would watch a cooking show on CBC called Wok with Yan. I loved it. The host had a new funny apron every episode, he would toss the veggies around the wok in sizzling oil with such pizazz, and he ended each show by feeding his creations to two lucky audience members. I remember dreaming that one day I would be an audience member, laughing at his aprons and eating that yummy food. 

Fast forward a few decades. Wok with Yan was cancelled long ago. But I'm a mama and I have six really beautiful creations, who gifted me a funny apron and, every day, I'm the lucky audience member who gets to watch them grow and sizzle and taste their works of creative and culinary and cuddly art. Things turned out much better than I ever dreamed (sorry, Yan). Happy Mother's Day to me.

Record-setting Janie Patricia is the youngest Kantor to ditch the training wheels. After getting lots of practice on a balance bike, and riding a bike with training wheels for 0.5 seconds, she decided she was ready to go it on her own. David took of the wheels, gave her a push, and she started to fly. 

"Janie! You're doing awesome!" we exclaimed as she zipped by. 

"I know!" she yelled back over her shoulder.  

And we haven't seen her since. (Just kidding. She turned around and came back.)
