clara's to dos

Clara's plans for the summer include...

And that's about all.

zoo much for him

So... I thought I'd have a special day date with Mr. Leo, do something nice together just the two of us before the rest of the kids are home for summer and it's all the people all the time. Let's go to a petting zoo, I thought. Yeah! A petting zoo where you walk through the animal enclosures! Yeah! That will be so fun!

Well, it's fun if you're six feet tall and you're looking at the animals like this...

But if you're four and not even four feet tall, then, I guess, it's kind of terrifying looking at the animals like this...

So, lesson learned. It was fun for me but not Leo. There were, and I quote, "too many animals." Still, the alpacas were fascinating and the chickens were very pecky and there was one 600-pound pig. All in all... Leo was really glad to go home.

last is best

Last day of school, here we come! Off to tidy up our desks, probably watch a movie, say good bye to friends, come home early. The last day of school is super hard.

champ

Here he is... a belated Happy Father's Day to this guy! He was away with Henry last weekend at a baseball tournament, so we're pulling out the homemade crepes and construction paper cards today! Lots of love to the best dad to these six... look how loved you are. And look at that medal! You're number 1!

dog days

Prepping for some summer fun coming up... we will be dog-sitting this little friend in August, so we're having a practice weekend with her. It's been going well so far - Annie, Clara, and Jane actually fight for who gets to pick up her poop and she is tiring Leo out. Having a dog is great.

grad finale

Well here he is... the last of the Kantor kids to finish preschool. Mr. Leo Kantor celebrated his graduation in fine fashion, with a construction paper hat and a portfolio of all his work. He is moving onward and upward to Kindergarten in the fall. Well done, littlest son.

man of many talents

Look at this guy. He brings home math awards, umps a game, and does the dishes. I'm very proud of him.

water you know?

Set up this amazing water park in the backyard today. Admission was free and no line ups. Pretty sweet deal.

bff

Another week, another adventure, this one involving cake pops and frogs. Leo is the best buddy and I will miss him so when he starts kindergarten.

silver lining

Henry's first tourney this weekend, and the boys brought home the silver! They fought really hard for it, playing six games in two days, and edging out a team in the semi-finals who had beaten them (significantly) the day before. That's about as complicated as my baseball commentary gets... I just know I really love watching Henry out there. It was a great weekend.

And what do the five other kids do while all these bajillion games are going on? These things...

And this is Joe. He's a bit of an anxious fan.

there and track

Henry was part of the 4x100 relay again this year, and they won participation. Ie. they participated but didn't win anything at all. But he looked good doing it.  Atta boy Henry!

a bit of a pickle

I think contortionists are really creepy, but I also really love my daughter. So just trying to work through some emotions here.

camp-anions

Me and my three girls headed to a Mother/Daughter/Daughter/Daughter camp this weekend. We did all sorts of things, like bonfires and high ropes and canoeing and hiking and water balloons and Adoration and Confession and more s'mores and Mass and sleeping very little. So we're coming home tired. And smelly. But very happy.

And while the girls were away, the boys did play... at the go-karting track.
