Once again, our awesome neighbour with pool has given us the gift of swimming this summer. We are grateful. 

clara's best day

Miss Clara had some special visitors today... her teachers came to bring some joy and sweet gifts. After a quick chat and photo, they were on their way to the next student's house. But as they looked up directions and figured out their route, sweet Clara took the opportunity to knock on the car window and have 10 more minutes of visiting time. Uninterrupted chatting time with a grown-up? That's Clara's dream come true. It was her favourite day of school ever.

Just a few more days of school/online learning/homeschooling/controlled chaos. For posterity, here are pictures of children scattered throughout my house staring at computers. Oh what a time is this.

When you are tired of online school and you want to make a Monday feel like a Friday... invite the cousins over for a bbq and s'mores. It's a nice change up.

 Happy Father's Day to this guy! We celebrated our resident daddy by waking him up, feeding him, and spinning the Wheel of Fun to determine the next activity. A bike ride, backyard games, Kahoot, a lego challenge, board game, a trip to DQ for blizzards, and s'mores from our new fire pit made the day wheely, wheely fun. And the best part is... every day with Daddy is just as awesome.

Leo found some friends at the park.

Clara planted a bean seed in science class back when she was in school (oh so long ago). It grew, it got transplanted to our garden, we planted some friends around it, and now - ta da - it grew a bean! Clara ate it right after I took this picture and declared it delicious.

Big week for Janie and her tooth. 

1. first dentist appointment

2. loose tooth

3. (10 minutes later) no tooth

4. (10 minutes after that) literally no tooth because she dropped it and couldn't find it

5. (10 minutes more) I found it under the piano

And now the tooth fairy has taken it and all the drama is done.

PA day today, so we biked to the park to hang with the cousins. David stayed home to get some work done in the quiet but here I go with all my ducklings in a row.

how I deal with things

This July will mark two whole years since I have been to Shaunavon to see my family and, as you can imagine, I have feelings about that. And the best thing to do with feelings is to 1. panic about them, then 2. come up with a plan that involves asking your parents a lot of questions, and then 3. write an essay about it. Now today all my feelings are published in The Globe and Mail.
