kantors in quarantine - april 30

This is what happens when you want to quadruple your pizza dough recipe but you octuple it instead.

This was for pizza and a movie night. On a THURSDAY. Because this is quarantine and who even are we?

kantors in quarantine - april 24

Four years in the making... I finally got this quilt done for Miss Clara. Nothing like a quarantine and procrastinating e-learning to get you to stop procrastinating quilt-making.

Clara is very happy and cozy.

Boys are still committed to their dessert menu. Today they made a chocolate cake.

They also made this.

Two things Leo loves:

1. Wearing a diaper helmet.
2. Sharing diaper helmets with others.

kantors in quarantine - april 21

Today marks the day I lost my mind. In an attempt to keep little people busy while I helped big people with school, I set up this bin of flour (old flour! used previously for a scavenger hunt at a birthday party two years ago and now used for crafts! not wasteful I promise!) on a plastic tablecloth on the kitchen floor and told them to play. What possessed me to think that the flour was going to stay in the bin, or even on the tablecloth, I do not know. How did I think the flour was not going to create a fine layer of dust over my entire house, I cannot be certain. Would my kitchen ever recover, I seriously doubted. But what I do know is (a) Clara, Jane, and Leo had a really great time but (b) if I could go back in time I would strongly discourage myself from setting up this activity or (c) maybe I would do it anyway because, what the heck, why not.

In summary, I have lost my mind.

To ensure they get dessert every day, the boys have officially taken over the menu, the planning, and the making. Have at it, kiddos.

Today's delicacy... jello.

kantors in quarantine - april 19

I made these! They were tasty. A little ugly but still tasty.

p.s. I was trying to make buns before the rest of the world was trying to make buns. I just want that to be known.

kantors in quarantine - april 18

I guess we didn't do anything interesting today because I didn't take any pictures. So here's one from a week ago, when the boys finally finished this Star Wars puzzle. Ta da!

kantors in quarantine - april 16

This is the start of every day. While Mom transforms the kitchen from "breakfast" to "school," everyone else plays a couple rounds of Sushi-Go. Only leads to fighting 67% of the time.

(Thanks, Molyneuxs, for gifting it to Joe... best used game.)

Yes, I made everyone get dressed. And, yes, I made them have their picture taken. Happy Easter!

kantors in quarantine - april 12

Happy Birthday, Jane! Hip hip hooray! You were born!

Happy Easter! Alleluia! Jesus is Risen!

Our day was joyful. Slightly weird, but joyful. We started the day with prezzies for Jane in her room, then downstairs to see if the Easter Bunny visited (he did.) An egg hunt, then yummy breakfast, and we dressed and headed to the basement for Mass. Our afternoon included distant visitors to bring good wishes to Jane. Then a fancy supper and bunny birthday cake, included Nanny and Grandpa singing from the other side of the door. We finished with some bingo games and then a tired Janie falling asleep on her brand new, fluffy pillow (thanks, Grammie!).

Jane has been counting down to her birthday since about September. Never did we ever imagine our Easter/birthday looking like this. But here we are. And we're glad we're here. Together and all of that.
