We went to watch the spawning salmon today in Bronte Creek, and we saw 20!! Dead ones. Yeah, we had some pretty lofty imaginings of giant salmon leaping over the rocks and journeying upstream. But what we saw instead were fishermen clamouring for the best spot, a few fish lying along the banks, and a lot of mud. Also it smelled bad.
So no fish for supper. Maybe next year.
