Our last hurrah! This trip to Turkey Point with cousins and Auntie Laura was our last beach trip of the summer. It wasn't our warmest day, but it was our shortest walk from the parking lot. And while those two things are not related, they are still the pros and cons as we know them.
We had another good day of splashing and swimming and sleeping (Leo) and snacking. These beach days were good and relaxing days for us, and we'll miss them. The kids anticipated them, and we embraced the holiday-ness of them. The cool of the water, whether it crashed all around us or calmly held up our swimming bodies, refreshed our quarantine-weary selves. And while these beach days could never replace a trip to Saskatchewan, or a cottage vacation with Grammie and Papa, they were ours to enjoy and do with as we pleased, little sprinkles of holiday to break up our days, our weeks, our months of at-home everything.
Like everyone else in the world, we have no idea what lies ahead. But here we go anyway.
