These are Clara's new purple specs. She started wearing glasses a few weeks ago but there was a slight mix-up at the optometrist, meaning she had to wear a trial pair while we waited (impatiently) for her actual pair... and voila. Worth the wait, Her Royal Cuteness.
Clara is pretty good at wearing them and taking care of them. She can scrub them clean with her special blue cloth while still wearing them. She carefully puts them in the case for bedtime and gymnastics time and outside play time. And she always removes them before Leo can grab them.
Best of all, now she can see. When we first picked them up and walked outside from the optometrist's office, I asked her how she liked them and if she could see things far away. Clara looked up and around and then exclaimed, "I CAN SEE THINGS FAR AWAY." So she's living in a whole new world, really. Exciting days are ahead.
