squirrely

We made squirrel houses! Well, we made structures out of graham crackers, pretzels, and popcorn kernels fused together with peanut butter in hopes that squirrels and birds would partake. We left them out around supper time (after squirrel bed time, apparently) and then waited for our friends to find them for breakfast. Do squirrels even like these things? I didn't know but hoped that I wasn't inadvertently inviting raccoons to inhabit our backyard.

Anyway, good news. No raccoons and, yes indeed, squirrels enjoy those things. At one point I looked out the window to see a very plump squirrel dragging the entire tinfoil plate across the backyard. Enjoy, squirrels.
