good people, good byes

Against my wishes, time moves on, all good things come to an end, and we have to start our drive back to Ontario. But not before we hug people (sometimes against their wishes) and promise to come back before the next global pandemic. 

Saskatchewan, you are hard to leave. Darn it.

 These two like to get up early to watch the news and eat breakfast in silence.

The kids love to hear the story about when I was in grade six and I climbed to the top of this exact high diving board, stood there a while, and then climbed back down. Ha. Classic. They, however, had no problems with simply jumping down, as per its intended use. Good for them.

We ran around the hills of Pine Cree today, on a cousin picnic. My aunt later told me there was a cougar-sighting there - a mama and her babies. This mama is pretty happy we did not see her; my babies, however, are annoyed that we didn't. To each their own. BUT a good play, a good picnic, a good number of mosquito bites, and it was a good (cougar-free) day.

Well, it turns out that Walker and Leo did not become the best of friends but... we're working on it. Hope is not lost... entirely.
