Rushing River Provincial Park, ON to Riding Mountain National Park, MB
Depart - 10:15 a.m. Arrive 7:30 p.m.
Today's the day... out of Ontario (it's a big province) and into Manitoba! We spent a little time in the morning to check out the rushing river and dip our toes in some water, and then back on the bus. We had fewer kilometres of driving today because we had a planned stop in Winnipeg to visit and a colleague of David's and her family. They graciously served us lunch, let our kids play with their toys, and gave us all turns in their washroom (so nice, using a bathroom bigger than a refrigerator). We learned Manitobans are a friendly bunch, especially that farmer who stopped to see that we were okay when we were stopped by the side of the road (so our kids could use that bathroom that is the size of a refrigerator). Joe would like to point out that there is a marked difference between roads in Ontario and roads in Manitoba. If we thought the ride was rough when we started... we were not prepared for the bumpy heights we would reach in Friendly Manitoba.
We reached our destination and stopping point for a couple of days, Riding Mountain, in early evening. We ate our campfire supper and then went in search of some people we know... hello Grammie and Papa!! More on that in Day 5....
