hello spring.

I'm so glad you've found your way back into my bathroom.

Also, Clara maybe experienced too much of you too fast. We'll ease her into it next time.

he is risen!

Happy Easter, everyone! The Kantors had a great and busy day celebrating and eating and eating. We are a blessed people to participate in this life.

egg-cellent

Or whatever egg pun you would like to use here.

Egg decorating. Fun. But so fast. The prep takes way longer than the actual decorating. But we can only decorate so many eggs - how much egg salad can six people eat?

So, here are this year's efforts. Time span: about 10 minutes.

dirty feet

It's Holy Thursday and we need to get cleaned up for Easter. Lent, as usual, really highlights our shortcomings (fun!) and the act of serving others really, really stinks around here sometimes. So we cleaned up our act (a little bit) by washing each other's feet - I would say, "just like Jesus did for his disciples" but I'm pretty sure our little pedicures resembled nothing of how the Lord served his friends. Still, the kids were pretty into it and had nice ways of finishing the sentence, "I'm washing your feet because...." So maybe we'll do this every day?

"snow" day

It rained today. And some of that rain was freezing. So school was cancelled.

And look what happens when kids don't know what to do with themselves.

Laundry folded. Check.
Rooms cleaned. Check.
All before 8 a.m. Check.

Now what shall we do with the rest of the day?

the time we ran away from home

Once upon a time, David and I put on Raptors t-shirts, booked a hotel with a view, watched a fun game, and then ate a leisurely breakfast the next day. We missed our people, and our people missed us, but it was nice to get away for 20 hours before our Baby 5 arrives. Nice, and also hilarious. Because it's hard to imagine that, once upon another time, we didn't even have people and we could walk around leisurely whenever we wanted... but did we? We couldn't remember. Anyway, happy birthdays to us. Now back to real life.

today

We went to the library this morning. And then it was quiet all afternoon. Thank you, Library.

happy birthday, grandpa!

We're happy to celebrate you today! And all the days!

reptiling

We visited some snakes and tortoises today. And this gecko who looks like he's given up on life. This is the reptile exhibit at the RBG - we learned a lot and there was the bonus of these lovely smelling hyacinths to make our visit extra spring-y.

syrupy

We ate some pancakes today, with delicious syrup, that may have been drunk from a cup like juice. Happy Maple Syrup Festival! And Happy March Break!

38

That's me! 38! That sounds crazy!

But I have four little people (and one coming sooooon) that remind me that I can't possibly be 25 any more, so I must be 38. Anyway, these 4 little people (and one big person) made today very nice.

Lego love.

Love notes, left around the house... I'm still missing six.

These cupcakes. Timbits inside. Pregnant mama's dream. Thank you, David.

david's birthday! again!

We're feeling better now so, finally, time for David's birthday redo. We headed into Toronto to the aquarium for a very fun and awesome day looking at fish and reciting information we learn from watching the Octonauts on t.v. After a full morning, we strolled to the Old Spaghetti Factory for a yummy meal and ice cream with a sparkler in it. And then back home for Daddy to open presents, enjoy a smallish supper (we did just finish eating lunch), and supplement small supper with cake (decorated lovingly by Joe, Henry, and Annie... aquarium-themed, don't even pretend you can't tell). David reported having a very good birthday, despite it being a week late - forty-two-year-olds are so mature and reasonable. And kind. And lovely. Happy Birthday, David!
