garden 2015

Well, here's what the garden looks like so far this spring...

It's a construction zone. The kids love it. And I love it for the peace it gives me between five and six p.m. when I'm trying to make supper and they would, normally, be at my feet with eight-gajillion requests and helpful suggestions for food preparation. Unfortunately, they will soon need to vacate the premises so we can grow things. I think they will be okay with that, too. We have big plans for growing pumpkins and watermelons (and other, more meal-friendly produce).

Clara skipped the finger paint and went right to semi-gloss.

p.s. Our basement is done! We are so glad. Everything is where it should be, we're enjoying our space, and we don't have strangers coming in and out of our house anymore!
p.p.s. Mom and Dad, your room is ready. What's that? You were here two weeks ago? Rats.

Backing the blog-mobile up. Clara turned eight months on Easter Sunday and here she is - all eight months of her. She's a sweet roly-poly.

Clara changed her mind. Swinging is

Tuesday, April 14, 2015

Today's discovery: Clara thinks swinging is hilarious.

To take the sting out of Grammie and Papa leaving... spring is now finally coming. Today we cracked open our 2015 box of chalk (but if today's aggressive colouring is any indication, I think this year we're going to need to up the number of boxes) and welcomed the season with bright crayola colours.

field trip

What's a visit from Grammie and Papa without a field trip? So off we go to St. Jacob's for trains and quilts and pretty shops and ice cream and a two-mile hike with kids. We had a really nice afternoon, all family-togetherness and such, and that's what makes it so difficult when Grammie and Papa have to go home. Joe takes it especially hard and there were so many tears at the end of this visit. He cries, which makes me cry, and now we're counting down to July when we get to see them again.

hooray for lily!

Today Lily received her First Communion, and we all came to cheer for her. Did you hear us? I mean, really, did you hear us? Because we were kind of loud.

So here we are, to celebrate. We've enjoyed our days off school, enjoyed all the days of Church, and really enjoyed the candies and parties of Easter day.
