our caribbean christmas

All right, so the Girodats did something a little cah-razy this Christmas. We opted out of a Saskatchewan winter and went for a warm weather vacation down to Jamaica. This meant sand instead of snow, jerk chicken instead of turkey, and short pants instead of coveralls for Dad. We smooched dolphins, snorkelled, built (lots of) sand castles, enjoyed breakfast doughnuts at the buffet, glistened in the dinoflagellate waters, lounged, played in the park, danced, and chased after crabs. And while we very much missed the Hansens on our trip, we loved our cousin and family time and all the chaos that comes with travelling with eleven kids all under the age of seven. Those seven days were a bit of a dream and, now that we're back in cold Canada, we have a hard time believing that we were really there. Still, we're very grateful for our vacation, very blessed by our family, and very glad to have had the whole experience.

Pictures? I took 848 of them. But - good news! - I've whittled them down to 67 for your viewing pleasure. I know Mom was looking at the blog the day we got home, waiting to see pictures... so here they are, finally.

Thank you again, Girodat families, for our days in the sun together. I love you very much.
