why Inside Baby can be born now

An incomplete list of reasons why this baby can come anytime.
1. Because I said so.
2. I finished both the boy and girl quilts.
3. I got groceries today. So that's done.
4. I'm tired of strangers pointing out the odd way in which I carry my babies (ie. straight out, like the baby is lying perpendicular to my tummy or trying to leap out of my belly button). Also, everyone has a prediction as to boy or girl. Clerk at Toys R Us: boy. Lady at Church: girl. Man at grocery store: boy. Kid at Joe's Vacation Bible School: just stood there staring at my belly button.
5. I'm waddling now. Not awesome.
6. We have no plans for tomorrow.
7. Please, please, please do not come on Annie's birthday.
8. Maternity shirts are no longer covering my belly.
9. Grammie is waiting. She still thinks you are twins.
10. And, most of all, we would really like to meet you. We're so excited to find out who you are, what you look like, who you will be in our family, and what your name is (you do come out wearing a nametag, right?).

We love you, Inside Baby. Please come soon.

new rooms

Here they are... all kidlings are moved into their new rooms and, for the most part, are settling in nicely. I say the "for the most part" business because transitioning a toddler into a big girl bed is not a one night project. Joe and Henry are liking their bigger space AND the paint colours they picked out. And Annie is doing okay in the big bed department. Bedtime takes a little longer but we eventually just leave her with a stack of books and she reads/sings herself to sleep.

So the only room left to fill is the baby's room. So come on Inside Baby. What are you waiting for?

the kantors

We Kantor-Family-Picnicked today... lots of fun with the extended family and little cousins, running around in the picnic area and digging on the beach. My camera spent most of the day relaxing on a lawn chair so not a lot of proof of the fun but it was had, nonetheless, trust me. Here's a little bit of it...

the moynifuns

They came, they brought supper, they made us laugh, and then we played every outdoor game you can think of. Thanks, Moynifriends, for a fun summer night!

pick-a-nicking

We surprised Daddy with an office picnic today (ie. I was too tired to think about making and cleaning up after lunch at home. Fortunately, little kids are easily sold on ideas that involve juice boxes.)

waiting

Well, here we are at 37 weeks, waiting for Inside Baby to arrive. Here, Henry demonstrates how we feel about waiting:

We're tired of it.

Still, we are keeping busy with swimming lessons and Vacation Bible Camp and running around in the backyard. We're still trying to finish up the basement and moving bedrooms around. This week, the boys moved to their new room and tell me that they love it. Next up: Annie's room.

As for Inside Baby, this is what he or she looks like:

Pokey-outy.

And as for that 'he or she' business, I have a boy quilt top and a girl quilt top waiting to be finished after Baby's birthday (which is hilarious... I'm not sure when I will have time to finish a quilt after a baby is born... ha ha ha... I'm a crazy person). Anyway, boy on the left, girl on the right (please note the boy quilt has four legs).

And names... not prepared in that category. Joe helped us out today by writing down four boy names and four girl names and then we had a family vote. Annie didn't really get the voting process and her ballot was ruined. As a result, we had a four-way tie. So... nowhere closer to  having a name but being very democratic about it.

There you go. We're here. We're waiting. We can't wait.

more saskatchewan

Our two weeks in Saskatchewan were full, with our motto being something like "You can nap in Ontario." So here's what we fit in, with or without naps.

We visited Papa's first home.
We met Boe. (He was easier to like from the other side of the fence.)

We went to the park. A lot.

We stared at this guy.

And we ate ice cream with this gang.

We had a Girodat family bbq, met all the Hodgson kids, and Annie got to smile at not one BUT two babies.

We had our family photos taken.

We ran and played.

We celebrated Grammie's birthday (only two months late).

We listened to some duets.

We went swimming.

We smelled the flowers with Grammie.

And we learned to like cats.

The end. See you again in August, when we bring FOUR kids (and we promise to have more naps).
