Ta da! Jonah is all shiny and new and baptized! Here are pictures for Grammie and Papa and everyone else who couldn't be there... (and don't worry... Jonah also missed his baptism... he slept through the whole thing).

That's as far as I got in teaching Joe how to say "Happy Father's Day." (... although earlier in the week he did announce, "This is Joe's book" so we're excited about a first sentence.)
Anyway, it was a happy day... a happy weekend, really... due in great part to a happy, happy daddy. We were glad to spoil you this weekend and love you so much.

Today is Joe's Baptismal anniversary... one year ago today he was welcomed into his Church family. So that's the day we planned on remembering - June 14, 2009.
But what we will probably remember more is today - June 14, 2010 - for the following reasons:
1. Today Joe was diagnosed as having Hand, Foot, and Mouth disease. Probably a gift from someone at the library or the park. He has an all-over-body rash of bumpy red dots. Should last about a week.
2. While we were at the doctor's office, getting the above diagnosis, he backed into the heater (which was ON, in June, on a super hot day) and burned the back of his legs. Complete with blisters.
3. And then we went home to play, only to have a horrible bookshelf incident... won't go into the details but you can see in the pictures the damage done.
That's it. Joseph is sleeping now so that should be all that happens in one day.
Joe is a pretty resilient guy... cries when it hurts but those tears can easily turn into giggles if I do something silly. So we still had a little Baptism party at supper... lit his candle, ate cupcakes, and gave him a gift of new trucks (um, religious trucks, of course).
Happy Baptism Day, Jojo. Let's try to have fewer danger days in the future.

(He really does cry when I try to take the vacuum away.)
(Oh, and he also put this bouncy chair together for the baby this morning. Hard worker.)
