And a Happy Boxing Day

We celebrated a pseudo New Year's Eve with Luis, Lisel, and Phil on Boxing Day. These are people we would like to pack up and take with us on our trip (but we can't because they weigh too much for our suitcases).

Merry Christmas

Christmas morning with the Dhas family...

... and Christmas evening with all the Kantors. It was like a 24-hour gift-a-thon. But in a very "Keep Christ in Christmas" kind of way. Thanks, Baby Jesus, for being born.

Quelle surprise

Those Salt + Lighters... they got us good. An innocent gathering of a few coworkers turned into a surprise going-away party, complete with the induction ceremony into the prestigious Order of the Golden Kangaroo. Thank you. I am so blessed to work with all of you. Even if you are a bunch of lying schemers.

This is where I work... Leftropolis, a division of Salt + Light Television, where all is left-handed and goodness reigns. And this is my fellow Leftropolis citizen, Matthew. He doesn't always have a handlebar mustache. That was the result of a referendum, where all citizens voted in support of the growth of the moustache.

What delicious looks like

This is Swan restaurant... a favourite of ours. We celebrated our second engagementaversary here tonight with the usual deliciousness of wine and risotto and fish specials and brownie.

Good morning.

This is how we start our days... wake up, bundle up, pack up, and get out. In training for the Camino part of the trip, David and I have started hiking around Oakville every morning with our backpacks (packed with cans of beans... a can gets added every day*) much to the confusion of many early-morning dogwalkers and commuters.

* For weight only. We will not be packing cans of beans on our trip.
